Open Government

We have an in-depth County website. That’s a great start, but what if you don’t have a computer? What if you’ve never even heard of your County government? What if you can’t attend County Board meetings, because they’re held at 10 AM on a Tuesday, when you’re at work?

I believe it is the government’s responsibility to actively provide information on its workings to the citizens it serves. So, as your representative, I will hold monthly town hall meetings to inform you on the challenges facing the Board, to gather your opinions, and to form a consensus. I will write and distribute a free newsletter via email or post to any who want it - and it will be paid for out of my own pocket. And I will work with my fellow Board Members to make more meetings accessible to the public. This includes changing the meeting times to an evening or weekend, when our bosses - YOU - are able to attend.
